Times right now are challenging. We’re all at home, trying our best to stay healthy. For many of us, we’re really lonely too. It’s tough not being around friends and following our normal routine. That’s why I’ve created the Sit N Fit Club. It’s a fun way to connect with others and stay moving and physically fit. We’d love for you to join the club!
About the Class: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of aerobic exercises designed to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance…all in the seated position! This chair-based exercise class is appropriate for older adults and those looking to lessen the impact on their joints. All ages and skill levels are welcomed, as variations will be shown. Standing exercises may also be incorporated to improve balance and flexibility. Invite a friend and let’s get fit while you sit!
- A sturdy chair
- Light hand weights (soup cans or water bottles work too!)
About Melissa Merkle: Melissa Merkle is a Senior Fitness Specialist and creator of the Sit N Fit Club. She first became certified as a Group Exercise Instructor in 2002, and she currently holds a personal training and health coaching certification. After owning Boomers N Motion, a health and wellness company focused on keeping baby boomers and older adults fit, she fell in loving with working with the senior population.
